Dearest Darling Friends,

Once upon a time, in a small prosperous town, a number of pigeons lived happily in an ancient temple.

When the renovation of the temple began for the annual temple fest, the pigeons lost their nest and they relocated themselves to a Church not even 100 meters away.

The existing pigeons in the Church accommodated the newcomers very well as there was lots of space for everyone.

After a few months, the Church was given a face lift as Christmas was nearing. The pigeons had to move out and look for another place to stay.

They were fortunate to find a place in a Mosque barely 100 meters away, This time the pigeons in the Mosque welcomed all of them happily.

In a few months, it was Ramadan time and the Mosque was repainted, All the pigeons now came back to live in the same ancient temple.

One day the pigeons heard about communal clashes in the market square of their town.

A baby pigeon asked the mother pigeon “Who are they?

The mother replied, “They are human beings”.

The baby asked, “But why are they fighting with each other…?”

The mother replied, “Few of them who go to the temple call themselves ‘Hindus’. Some who go to the Church call themselves ‘Christians’ and the people going to Mosque are called ‘Muslims’. They are fighting each other on the basis of the place they go to.

The Baby pigeon asked,

– “Why is it so? When we were in the Temple we were called Pigeons, when we were in the church we were called Pigeons and when we were in the Mosque, we were called Pigeons.

– Similarly, shouldn’t they be called ‘Human beings’ wherever they go?

– We accommodated each other in the temple, the church, and in the mosque. Shouldn’t they do the same?”

If the baby pigeon had asked you the same questions, what would you have answered?

With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,
