A daughter went to her father and said…“I won’t be going to the temple anymore..”

Father: “May I ask why”?

Daughter: “When I go there all I see is people on their mobile phones during service and bhajans. Some are gossiping, some are not living with integrity. They are all just hypocrites…”

Father (thoughtful), and then: “OK… may I ask you to do something for me before you make your final decision?”

The daughter said: “Yes.. what’s that?”

Father: “Please take a glass of water and walk around the temple twice, but you must not let any water fall out the glass”.

Daughter: “Yes… I can definitely do that”.

After 15 minutes… she came back and said, “It’s done. Not a single drop of water fell down”.

Father asked her 3 questions:

  1. Did you see anybody on their phone?
  2. Did you see anybody gossiping?
  3. Was anybody living without integrity?
Daughter: “I didn’t see anything. I was focused on the glass and the water within… making sure the water didn’t spill”.

Father: “When you go to the temple, this is what you should do. Simply focus, think and connect with God”.

My darling friends, in these troubled times, a few of us may see and experience a lot of things around that frustrates and disturbs us. I understand. I completely understand.

However, I am inspired by many who are absolutely focused on helping those who need help. They refuse to get distracted by who is wrong and how wrong they are. Hats off to them. These people in turn deserve all the help that you and I can provide.

If you are already one such person, here is a BIG virtual hug for you. And a heartfelt ‘Thank YOU’. May the good wishes of people you help, last you this entire lifetime.

With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,

naren
