Hi Beautiful…

Beauty is an amazingly unexplainable concept. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, expressed Shakespeare.

Hence, it takes as many forms as there are ‘we’, he must have believed.

I asked a meditator, what is beauty?

Meditator – ‘Silence deep within is the most authentic and greatest revealer of beauty’.

I asked a 15-year-old boy who had piercings (2) on his left eyebrow, what is beauty?

He said, ‘Beauty is a tattoo for the Soul’.

I asked a lover, what is beauty?”

With a smile that was loud yet silent, she shared, “It ‘lives’ as a fragrance and ‘leaves’ as a fragrance from the expanse of the heart.”

I asked a retired military uncle, what is beauty?

Soldier – ‘It is in believing, irrespective of everything, MY COUNTRY deserves my life!’

I asked a philosopher, what is beauty?”

He said, ‘Beauty is beyond agreements, acceptance or recognition. It is a personal reminder about the Divine.’

I asked an old man in his 90s who used to sing folk bhajans every Chaturthi (4th day in the moon cycle) in the public garden in front of my house, what is beauty?

He would wheeze when he would speak. Yet, when he sang, his voice was all clean and powerful.

He said his guru had told him to recognize beauty as ‘the’ bridge between the essence of God and the experience of God.

When he sang the glories of the creator, he just forgot who he was. At the end of the bhajans, he always found his face (engulfed by his beard), soaked with his tears. That to him was the grace of the creator, that to him was a beauty.

I asked myself what beauty is?

I had a high fever once. My three-year-old child was heard praying to god, ‘please make my papa ok.’ I could not hold my tears. Innocence? Purity? Is this beauty?

I saw the erect spine of the wife of a slain soldier. Knowing very well that her tough times had started, she still looked strong.

If God was in front of her, I believe she would have said, ‘Bring it on!’ I cried.

Courage, honour, duty? Is this beauty?

My son loves his Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolates. His sister looks at him with eyes longing for her brother’s piece.

She has finished her share. He ignores her for some time. Her desire is unfair and she is silent. After a small inner fight, he slowly holds out his piece to her. Her eyes sparkle with joy.

She jumps with joy, hugs him with delight. His heart still longs for his chocolate, his body language conveys his embarrassment, but his face also radiates contentment.

Selflessness, love, caring, and sharing? Is this beauty?

Words cannot define it yet I have just strived.

People discuss who is the most beautiful. Aishwarya? Angelina? Katrina? My heart says, Mother Teresa. Deeds alone can express beauty and we must express it often.

When someone says to you, ‘Hi beautiful’, they should not be referring to how you look, but to what you have ‘done’ and what you have ‘given’.

I, here and now, take the privilege of saying to you, ‘Hi beautiful!’

With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,

Change your thoughts. Change your life

    Excellent narendra bhai.

In my eyes beauty is the love my pet Angel showers (he is not well now) and runs to me with his protective collar unconditional love for a simple pat on his back.He is having a tumour on his abdomen and it is bandaged.

With no speech he showers love and that sight is the beauty.

Life is beautiful and I just need to open my eyes to see it ..

    Love you

Yes, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder!

One of my favorite books – My Mother is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World book by Becky Reyher.

A lost girl looks for her mother who is, in the girl’s eyes, the most beautiful woman in the world.

    Respected Sir,

You have shown us many Faces of Beauty.
    Beauty is bountiful.
Here are a few more which flash before my mind.

A woman caught up in a natural calamity, deprived of belongings & hungry – gets a packet of food, her face blooms, her eyes moisten with tears and that all is Beauty at that moment for her.

For a farmer a heap of the harvested crop which he had tended & cared through the season – is Beauty. Is it devoted service to Mother Nature? Is it Her Blessings?

A cow delivers a calf & so lovingly leaks it, isn’t that Beauty of Creation?

There can be Beauty even in death, when a soldier dies on the battlefield, or a Satyagrahi for his motherland’s freedom – it’s a divine sacrifice- that Sacrifice is Beauty!

For an artist, maybe a singer, musician, dancer or painter her/ his performance or art itself is the Beauty. For an artist, it is a bridge to Divine Joy!

Nature is a treasure of Beauty – in Her Panchmahabhutas & Creatures, through various forms & seasons.

Though it’s true the Beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder, in reality, it lies within and expresses itself like a wave or fragrance in response to an external situation.

Let’s pray the Creator to bless us with that awareness, consciousness to sense the Beauty within & around us in Nature’s creations.

    With Nature’s Blessings,

    Bhumiputra.
