Dearest Darling Friends,

Have you ever read… “SAID A BLADE OF GRASS”.

Said a blade of grass to an autumn leaf, “You make such a noise falling! You scatter all my winter dreams.”

Said the leaf indignant, “Low-born and low-dwelling! Song less, peevish thing! You live not in the upper air and you cannot tell the sound of singing.”

Then the autumn leaf lay down upon the earth and slept. And when spring came she waked again — and she was a blade of grass.

And when it was autumn and her winter sleep was upon her, and above her, through all the air the leaves were falling, she muttered to herself, “O these autumn leaves! They make such noise! They scatter all my winter dreams.”

My dear friends, I had to read the above lines 3 times before I comprehended it. It scared me. It humbled me.

It made me realize, how often, in good times, I forgot ‘times of struggles’.

It also made me realise, how dangerous self-righteousness was. What is self-righteousness? It is when I hold people to high standards without being a role model. For example…

I have feigned hurt when people lie to me. Yet, I forgot the times when I have lied.

We forget our times of struggles and judge people when we see them struggle.

We forget to understand people yet we demand to be understood.

We forget our moments of loneliness, and judge people who are alone.

We forget the agony when we felt helpless and resort to petty power struggles and make weak people feel more helpless.

Look at the world with eyes of love. See what people are going through. No one is against you. They are fighting their own battles and demons.

Help them or pray for them. Please do not prey on them.

If you are already doing this, this world is wonderful because of people like you. If not, let’s start today and make this world a much better place to live in…

With love, prayers, and exceptional wishes,

naren

Imagine, when we wake up, we are given only what we had thanked for.
