Dearest Darling Friends
This piece of wisdom was hammered into me on Saturday, Feb 8th, 2025 – Pay close attention to the stories you tell yourself, because your stories create your reality.
The quality of these internal stories has a real, tangible impact on my interaction with the external world:
•If I tell myself this is tough, I won’t break my comfort zones.
•If I tell myself I am not worthy, I won’t reach for it.
•If I tell myself that I can’t do it, I won’t dream big.
The ripples of my internal stories extend to every aspect of my life. They hold me back or push me forward. There is no in between.
It’s not the sheer difficulty of achieving something that stops me—it’s the ease of continuing to tell myself the story that “I can’t.”
Close to 1200 ‘people with disabilities’ (PWD) participated in ABBF and SVP’s RunInSync Marathon. Everyone was mesmerised with the enthusiasm and positivity of our dear friends who are PWDs. Each one of them were saying in the silent chambers of their heart, “There is nothing in this world that we CAN’T do.”
Some were blind, some were on wheel chairs, some were on tandem cycles, some had a limb missing, some were slow learners. All of them had one thing in common.
They told themselves POWERFUL stories and that why each one of them completed the ‘run’.
No regrets. No drama. No need for sympathy. Plain and simple, “I can” attitude.
Impact on me – From now onwards, the mantra of my life will be – No self sabotage stories. Only powerful stories.
Commitment –
1. I will run at least 3 half marathons this year. The only half marathon I ‘walked + ran’ was close to 8 years ago.
2. I will reduce my body fat % from 31 to 25. I have never been less than 30% fat. Ever.
3. I will move from 94 kgs to 87 kgs in the next four months. I have never ever been less than a healthy 92 kgs since my school days.
Thanks SVP and ABBF for this wisdom. Thanks a million.
With love, prayers and best wishes,
