Dearest Darling Friends,

Do you seek the approval of people who are not happy with their own lives? Do you covet endorsement from people who revel in finding fault in others? Do you want praise from people who complain every few minutes?

In other words, do you see yourself as a product of ‘other people’s opinions’? If yes, God helps YOU for being dependant on what others think of you. This is a sure-fire way of being miserable and staying confused all the time.

On being a victim of other people’s opinions, your performance will never reach its peak.

Look at any sportsperson who has the potential of being at the top of their game and then starts changing coaches frequently. History is proof that this person starts playing much below potential. When their game falters, their response is rarely to fix their game. Sadly, their response is to find fault in things around them. They will blame the courts, the boards, their luck and of course the UMPIRES!

If only they had sat in the seat of silence, if only they have listened to themselves without being bothered about ‘people’s opinions’, they would have realized there are too many sounds within their head.

Do you want to know a great trick for letting go of other people’s opinions? Here is a very unorthodox way.

Read a book about space or watch a video about it. Here’s a passage from Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time.

“Our sun is just one of the one hundred thousand million stars that make up our galaxy the Milky Way. The Milky Way is only one of the many galaxies in the local group. The local group, in turn, is just one of the thousands of groups and clusters of galaxies that form the largest known structures of our universe.”

Now think of your size, place, and relevance in that universe. Now ask yourself, “Is it worth being preoccupied with ‘what others think about me’?

You play sports to enjoy the sport.
You play sports to develop yourself.
You play sports to challenge your limits.
You play sports to focus, to recharge, to respect yourself.

Play life like a sportsman. You play sports not to defeat a person or an opponent nor to impress a person nor to get endorsed by anyone. You play sports to win over yourself. And the best part of sports is, it often begins with LOVE ALL.

With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,

naren
