Dearest Darling Friends

Have you ever found yourself sprinting on treadmills and calling it progress?

There was a period in my life when everyday felt full.

* Calls.
* Meetings.
* Deadlines.
* Movement everywhere.

And yet, beneath all that activity, there was a strange feeling I could not explain.
It felt like ‘nothing’ was actually moving forward.

It reminded me of watching people run intensely at the gym.

Sweat all over.
Motion in intensity.
But the scenery never changes.

I think many of us experience this silently.
The pace of life is addictive. Calendars become crowded. We are constantly responding to messages and emails.

And because exhaustion is visible, we diabolically assume progress is happening too.

But movement and direction are very different experiences.

One tires the body.
The other nourishes meaning.

Over time, I started asking myself a different question.

Not: “How much did I finish today?”
But: “What actually changed?”

That question altered many things for me.

I realised, sometimes, the most sensible decision is not about speeding up and doing more.

It is about stepping off the treadmill long enough to notice whether the wall in front of me has looked identical for years?

There was no shame in realizing that.

This awareness has, in a strange way, returned energy back to life.
