Dearest Darling Friends,

When I began mentoring, I used to think transformation arrives dramatically.
So I would gear up for meetings to provide my clients with…

– A breakthrough idea.
– A sudden realisation.
– A powerful decision.
– A sudden shift.

This approach failed!!! I was horrified. Damn !!!

In 26 years of mentoring, I have rarely seen transformation happen dramatically.
On the contrary, it invariably arrived quietly.

1. In tiny actions.
2. In things that were repeated silently.
3. In small conversations that happened over a period of time.
4. In the tone of respect that carried critical conversations without malice.

Over time, shifts happened.
Patterns began creating landscapes.
Small habits slowly opened spaces inside people.

The strange thing about habits is that they do not argue while shaping your future.
They simply impact. A bit at a time.

One day you realize certain thoughts that were seeds, have become forests.
Certain qualities have become vines and they add strength to everything you do.
Certain disciplines have become shade and they provide comfort when things are awry.

These days, I am less fascinated by big declarations.
I pay more attention to small actions that can be repeated.
The small things people do when nobody is watching usually tell the truth about where life is heading.

Not loudly.
But accurately.

What has been your experience in mentoring people? What has worked for you?

Would love to learn and grow from your insights.

With love, prayers and best wishes,
