Dearest Darling Friends,
Richard Douglas Fosbury was an American high jumper, who is considered one of the most influential athletes in the history of track and field.
Back in 1968, at the Olympics, he chose not to high jump like everyone else had been doing for years.
Rather than jumping over the bar in the forward direction, he revolutionized the high jump event with his “back-first” technique now known as the Fosbury Flop.
* He won the gold.
* Set an Olympic record.
* Today, all high jumpers FLOP the jump.
* He changed the sport by questioning the method, not the goal.
So what’s our takeaway here?
Stop assuming the present method is sacred. It’s probably outdated. Is it time for you to attempt your ‘Fosbury flop’?
The trust is that we don’t always have to work harder. Sometimes we just need a better approach or a better tool. That’s it!
Just because everybody is doing it one way does not make it the ONLY way.
If you are stuck, don’t alter the dream. Alter the way you have been going about getting there.
With love, prayers and best wishes,
Change your thoughts. Change your life.
