Dearest Darling Friends,
About 60 years ago, in different parts of the world, two kids are undergoing a tough childhood.
One of them, born in Honolulu, Hawaii (USA), out of a mixed race marriage, has a skin color which is massively discriminated against.
After his parent’s divorce, he is brought up by a single mother, with almost no material wealth. This kid gets to meet his Kenyan dad only once in his childhood. He grows up with an identity challenge and huge emotional turmoil.
Halfway across the world, another kid is born into a poor family in Vadnagar, Gujarat (India). He was the third of four children in a family of very modest means.
Their house, 40 feet by 12 feet, is poorly lit and has little natural light. Every night, the sole kerosene lamp and its accompanying ghastly smell adds to everyone’s discomfort and grime.
To overcome hunger, this kid had to sell tea at the local railway station, did not get much formal education and kept struggling through his childhood.
WHAT CHANCE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THEM TO EXCEL IN LIFE?
THESE KIDS ARE LIKE MILLIONS MORE IN INDIA.
Yet, today, they lead the world’s oldest and world’s largest democracies.
Both elected to the top posts without having the luxury of a comfortable childhood, family wealth, great looks or family connections.
Both Obama and Modi, signify the POWER OF AUDACITY AND SELF BELIEF.
Bottom line? Dreams can be accomplished.
So, keep dreaming and keep working hard.
Despite all odds and challenges, YOU WILL ALSO MAKE IT.
Self-Belief. Dreams. Hardwork. Desire. Slog. Inspire. Aspiration. Accomplishments are ALL interlinked. Link them and make all of us PROUD of you.
