Dearest Darling Friends ,

A hill exposes our endurance.
A sprint exposes our speed.
A long run exposes our patience.

Sometimes, simply staying with the group exposes the stories we have been telling ourselves about what we can and cannot do.

That is what I am beginning to appreciate about running.
It is not merely building endurance.
It is revealing truths.

The things we thought were easy may not be.
The things we thought were impossible may turn out to be manageable.
And the things we have been avoiding often turn out to be precisely where the next bit of growth is waiting.

This has made me look differently at weakness.

Perhaps weakness is not a verdict.
Perhaps it is information.
A little message saying:
Here is some work that remains.

No shame.
No drama.
No need to hide it.

Just notice it.
And work on it.

I think that is one of the reasons I am enjoying running so much.

The road keeps giving me feedback.
Sometimes gently.
Sometimes not so gently.
But always honestly.

It is not merely make me stronger.
It is introducing me to myself.
