Dearest Darling Friends,

May this Diwali, you help someone see their own light.

How?

The goal is not to win the argument, but to build bridges.

This Diwali, let us light up more than just our home. ✨Let us…

  • Light up our life.
  • Light up our relationships.
  • Light up our conversations.

Because, life keeps giving us the same challenge until we pass it.

✅ Same frustrations at work.
💔 Same fights in relationships.
😩 Same mistakes repeated.
😔 Same regrets after missed chances.

Different scenes, same lesson.

And the lesson?
Until we change within, nothing changes without.

Diwali isn’t just about lighting diyas outside —
it’s about lighting one inside.

Inner work begins when our urge to be right fades…
and our desire to be kind shines bright. 🌱

The goal is not to win the argument,
but to build bridges.

In my coaching experiences, these 7 small but powerful verbal diyas have shed light during the darkest of contexts.

Not once, not twice, but innumerable times.
I am sure some of them will resonate with you.

1️⃣ Reflective listening: “Just to make sure I understand, you’re saying that…?”

2️⃣ Encourage sharing: “What do you think about…”

3️⃣ Empathy before perspective: “I see why you feel that way.” (pause) “Is it possible that…?”

4️⃣ Softening phrases: “I might be wrong, but…”

5️⃣ Avoid absolutes: Skip “You always…” / “You never…”

6️⃣ Show curiosity: “That’s fascinating. Tell me more…”

7️⃣ Ask for help: “Help me understand………….”

Used with genuine curiosity, these phrases breaks down the thickest walls of misunderstanding.
Used with ego or sarcasm, they explode like landmines. 💣

When spoken with sincerity, these words brighten the darkest of moments.
When spoken with ego, they cast strong shadows.

This Diwali, let these verbal diyas become your light. 🪔

Let understanding replace argument.
Let connection replace correction.

Choose connection over confrontation.
That’s the real inner work. ✨

Call to action –
