Dearest Darling Friends,
My friend Ashish Sachade shared this message with me. It made me wonder and smile.
Someone asked, “Why do we have brakes in a car?” Many answers were provided like ‘to stop’, ‘to reduce speed’, ‘avoid collision’, etc., but the best I found was, “To allow you to drive faster.”
Give it a thought. It’s true but seldom appreciated. It’s because we have brakes, we can dare to accelerate, dare to go fast and even in difficult roads, reach the destinations we desire.
At various points in life, you would have found your parents, teachers, mentors, friends, spouse, colleagues, etc.
▪ asking you questions about your progress,
▪ doubting the direction you are moving in,
▪ or finding faults in your decisions.
These interruptions felt like brakes when you wanted speed.
These obtrusions created disturbances when you wanted positivity.
These interferences seemed like ‘lack of belief in you’ when you wanted unquestioned support.
I can vouch and say, sometimes we get carried away by our sense of clarity and make hurried choices that leads to disasters. I have made such mistakes.
I can vouch again and say, sometimes we get carried away by over confidence and inadequate preparations when caution was necessary. I have made these mistakes too.
I am wiser now. Today I accept that brakes are not meant to stop me, forever. Sometimes, they are just supposed to slow me down a little. Sometimes, they stop me when it is ‘necessary’ for me to stop.
I do not dislike the brakes of my life any more. I have learnt to appreciate the ‘brakes’ in my life, so that I can drive at the right speed and arrive at my destination.
Would love to know your thoughts on this topic. Do you have anything to share? Just hit the reply button and I will be waiting at the other side to read your thoughts. Oh yes, the road between you and me is smooth as a highway. It is a unique road. No brakes required. Touche’ !!!
With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,
Imagine, when we wake up, we are given only what we had thanked for.
